The Philomath Community Library is among the beneficiaries of the Friends and Foundation of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library’s annual BIG Book Sale, scheduled for Friday through Sunday at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Corvallis.

Proceeds from the three-day sale fund activities and programs at all four county library branches — Alsea, Corvallis, Monroe and Philomath.

This year’s sale will feature more than 30,000 fiction and nonfiction books for all ages, along with audiobooks, CDs and DVDs, organizers said. New categories this year include textiles, birds and a STEM section for children. A special Oregon authors table will also be available.

Friday prices are $3 to $4 for adult books and $1 to $2 for children’s books with prices dropping on Saturday. On Sunday, no book will be more than $1 and shoppers can fill a medium box for $10. The sale accepts cash, checks, Venmo and most credit cards (with a 3% fee per credit card transaction).

Donors who have given $20 or more in the past year will have early access Friday from 1-4 p.m. Donations can be made online or also at the door to qualify.

The sale, which takes place in the Solar Building, will be open to the general public from 4-7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

Friends of the Library is always on the lookout for more volunteers to help at the book sale. For anyone interested, inquire at 541-766-6928 or info@cbcplfriendsandfoundation.org.
