Sen. Dick Anderson (R-Lincoln City) has been on a tour of District 5 communities and he will make a stop in Philomath from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Anderson will participate in the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo’s Grand Parade, which is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and will follow a route from the high school to Skirvin Park. Afterward, Anderson will meet with Frolic and Rodeo board members and community leaders for a tour of the grandstands. Last year, the State Legislature approved a $1.9 million appropriation to the Frolic and Rodeo for rodeo arena improvements, including new grandstands.

Anderson’s stop in Philomath will wrap up a tour of his district. He made appearances on July 5 at the Lincoln County Fair and on July 9 at town hall meetings in Depoe Bay, Lincoln City and Otis. On Wednesday, he is scheduled to hold town halls in Newport and Waldport. Then on Thursday, he’ll head to Toledo for a meet-and-greet and tour of a veterans housing project before participating in an afternoon town hall at Siletz.
