Alyrica Networks, a Philomath-based internet service provider, will host the third annual Willamette Valley Broadband Event on Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Knife River Training Center in Albany, the company announced.
The event aims to bridge the digital divide within the region by bringing together industry stakeholders, government representatives, service providers and adjacent vendors. The event runs from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. and is free to attend. Registration is open to all.
“Alyrica Networks believes that by sponsoring this event, we can facilitate crucial conversations and relationships to close the digital divide in our local communities,” the company said through a press release. “We invite you to join us and share this event with others. Together, we can create a more connected and informed Willamette Valley.”
Eric Forsch from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration will be delivering the keynote address and additional discussions will be facilitated by industry leaders such as Link Oregon, a nonprofit providing internet to the state’s public and nonprofit sectors. Participants will also be able to explore the recently opened Knife River Training Center and witness equipment demonstrations in their covered dome. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
