The Philomath School District will partner with local emergency services for a collaborative safety training exercise on Wednesday morning, officials announced.
The Philomath Police Department and Philomath Fire and Rescue will join district personnel for the active threat training drill across multiple campus locations.
The training will take place at five school sites throughout the morning, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Philomath High School and continuing at Clemens Primary School (8:30 a.m.), Philomath Middle School (9:30 a.m.), Philomath Elementary School (10:45 a.m.), and Philomath Academy/school district office (11:45 a.m.).
Training at Blodgett Elementary has been scheduled for a later date.
Community members should expect to see an increased presence of emergency personnel and vehicles around school district campuses during the designated training times. District officials emphasize that it is strictly a training exercise with no actual threat present.
The public is asked to avoid the areas around the schools during the scheduled training periods.
