Road construction work in Philomath continues this week with Applegate Street lane closures expected, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced.

The agency reported that the north lane of Applegate between Seventh and Eighth streets and the south lane of Applegate from 13th to 14th streets will be worked on beginning Monday. The work requires not only those lane closures but also will restrict access to some side streets and driveways.

The work is all part of the Philomath Safety and Streetscape Improvements Project that has been ongoing since late 2022. The current phase of the project relates to digging up portions of the road and replacing it. As a result, ODOT said the work will change the level of the road, creating a temporary uneven surface between the lanes.

The schedule shows crews working 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday with periods when traffic will be restricted on Seventh and Eighth streets.
