Finalizing a contract with the fire chief, discussing a cost-of-living adjustment for employees and a Master Plan review are among the items on what appears to be a busy agenda for the Philomath Fire and Rescue Board of Directors meeting at 3 p.m. Monday at Station 201.
A wage, benefits and COLA discussion includes a staff recommendation of a 5.3% increase for all employees. A vote on Fire Chief Chancy Ferguson’s contract will also go before the board, along with the Master Plan review, which had been discussed in detail during a March 4 work session.
Also on the agenda for the March 11 meeting are issues related to emergency phones at the district’s rural stations and the purchase intended to improve the district’s cybersecurity program.
The agenda also provides time for reports from Ferguson, Deputy Fire Chief Rich Saalsaa, office administrator Ashley Scott, the volunteer association’s Dan Eddy, the firefighter union’s Scott Moser and City Council liaison Christopher McMorran.
The board plans to adjourn into executive session as allowed by state statute following the regular meeting. Executive sessions are closed to the public.
The fire station is located at 1035 Main St. The meeting can also be accessed through Zoom (see the agenda for instructions).
