FRIDAY, JAN. 5
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious vehicle at 11:10 a.m. (Industrial Way and Summerton Way) and a disabled vehicle at 3:36 p.m. (North 19th Street and West Hills Road). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 8:47 a.m. (Southwest Plymouth Drive, Corvallis). PPD reported three traffic stops.
SATURDAY, JAN. 6
• 11:51 a.m. — Police responded to a domestic disturbance on South 17th Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of a prowler at 3:47 p.m. (Applegate Street), suspicious circumstance at 7:43 p.m. (North Ninth Street), private property tow at 8:14 p.m. (College Street) and a civil dispute at 11:37 p.m. (North Ninth Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.
SUNDAY, JAN. 7
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a dog barking at 11:21 a.m. (Timothy Street). PPD reported eight traffic stops.
MONDAY, JAN. 8
• 1:38 p.m. — Police responded to a report of first-degree theft in the 600 block of McCall Way. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police responses included an abandoned vehicle at 8:04 a.m. (North 12th Street), domestic disturbance at 12:54 p.m. (South 17th Street), reckless driving at 1:38 p.m. (Main Street and North 19th Street) and trespassing at 8:56 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted the Corvallis Police Department on a call at 9:46 p.m. (Southwest Fourth Street and Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported one traffic stop.
TUESDAY, JAN. 9
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a traffic hazard at 12:57 a.m. (North Seventh Street and Main Street) and a suspicious vehicle at 4:02 p.m. (South 23rd Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 10
• 1:18 p.m. — Police responded to a report of identity theft in the 600 block of Main Street. Police reported it was a civil issue and took a report.
• 3:09 p.m. — Police assisted with a fraud attempt involving an individual on Old Peak Road. The individual had no financial loss with a decision to inquire at the Philomath Police Department before sending any money.
Other calls: Police responses included a noise disturbance at 12:40 a.m. (North 13th Street and Pioneer Street), unsecured premises at 3:08 a.m. (College Street), abandoned vehicle at 3:52 p.m. (McCall Way) and a noise disturbance at 11:39 p.m. (North 13th Street). PPD reported 12 traffic stops.
THURSDAY, JAN. 11
• 10 a.m. — Police arrested a 56-year-old Corvallis man at College Street and North 15th Street on a warrant for contempt of court.
• 10:59 a.m. — Police took possession for safekeeping a bicycle recovered at a location near Main Street and Newton Street.
Other calls: Police responses included assisting a person at 3:54 p.m. (Main Street), dog at large at 6:40 p.m. (Main Street and North Seventh Street) and contact with a citizen at 9:10 p.m. (Main Street).

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 3
• 6:08 a.m. — Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 200 block of South 13th Street involving a residential mailbox stand that had been damaged in the middle of the night.
THURSDAY, JAN. 4
• 6:11 p.m. — Police arrested a 27-year-old Philomath woman at a North Ninth Street residence on misdemeanor charges of second-degree child neglect and improper use of 911. The woman was transported to Benton County Jail in Corvallis.

SUNDAY, DEC. 31
• 11:23 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 66-year-old Philomath woman on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving during a traffic stop for driving 82 mph in a 55-mph zone near Highway 20 and Kings Valley Highway.
TUESDAY, JAN. 2
• 1:20 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 61-year-old Brownsville woman on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop on Highway 20 about 3 miles east of Blodgett. The woman was cited and released.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 3
• 2:44 p.m. — Deputies responded to a crash at the intersection of Highway 20 and Priest Road involving a semi-truck off the road. The driver, a 45-year-old Surrey man, reported that a pickup had forced him to swerve and crash. A weight limit sign for Priest Road was damaged. The truck and trailer were driveable.
THURSDAY, JAN. 4
• 6:55 p.m. — Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle off the road on Kings Valley Highway near Cardwell Hill Drive. According to a report, a 28-year-old Corvallis woman driving a Volkswagen Bug was headed north on the highway and was attempting to turn right onto Cardwell Hill Drive but missed the road and drove down into a ditch. The driver attributed the crash to poor headlights on her vehicle.
FRIDAY, JAN. 5
• 7:01 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 24-year-old woman (city of residence not reported) on a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving after she was observed driving 78 mph in a 55-mph zone on Highway 20 about 3 miles west of Blodgett. Two other motorists had called in reports of a reckless driver on the highway. The driver was cited and released.
• 7:59 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 35-year-old Gleneden Beach woman on a warrant out of Idaho for probation violation at Ellmaker State Park near Burnt Woods. The woman was transported to Benton County Jail.
SATURDAY, JAN. 6
• 3:05 p.m. —Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 about 4 miles west of Blodgett involving a Honda sedan driven by a 20-year-old Springfield woman. The vehicle was unoccupied and after later contacting the driver, deputies were told that the vehicle hydroplaned in heavy rain, crossed the center line and crashed into a tree about 30 yards from the south side of the roadway. The vehicle also went through a Starker Forests field fence.
MONDAY, JAN. 8
• 7:47 a.m. — Deputies responded to Highway 20 in Blodgett for a report of a hit-and-run. A 30-year-old woman reported that she had been stopped for traffic waiting to turn left across traffic on Highway 20 when a Toyota Tacoma passed, hit and damaged her vehicle. The Toyota continued driving west on Highway 20. The damage estimated exceeded $2,500.
• 9:45 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 35-year-old Philomath man on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (blood alcohol content of .25) and reckless driving during a traffic stop at Main Street and 24th Street.

FATAL CRASHES
FRIDAY, JAN. 5
• 8:59 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash just off the westbound Interstate 84 exit 62 in Hood River that took the life of Miranda Kaylyn Archer, 36, of Goldendale, Washington. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Chevrolet Colorado driven by Archer was headed west on I-84 and while taking the Exit 62 off-ramp crashed over the guardrail and down an embankment, coming to rest on its roof in the parking lot of a hotel. Archer was declared deceased at the scene. A 13-year-old boy was transported via Life Flight to an area hospital. Troopers suspect speed as a contributing factor to the crash.
THURSDAY, JAN. 11
• 5:14 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Yachts that took the life of Kelsey Rose Seibel, 25, of Waldport. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that an ambulance was responding to a call with emergency lights activated when it attempted to turn southbound onto Highway 101 from a driveway. A northbound Kia Soul, driven by Seibel, collided with the driver’s side of the ambulance. Seibel was declared deceased at the scene. A passenger in the Kia, a 16-year-old boy, suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Neither occupant of the Kia was properly restrained and airbags failed to deploy, troopers reported. The ambulance driver and a passenger were not injured. There was no patient in the ambulance at the time of the crash.
