A correspondent to the Albany Herald says of the Claybaugh funeral at Philomath Monday: — “The funeral of Clara Viola Mason Claybaugh, who died at Lewiston, Idaho, on the 22nd inst., was preached in the College chapel, of the Philomath College, on Christmas day, by Rev. W. W. Rosebraugh, College pastor. The text was the 26th psalm. The young lady had been married less than a year; she was in life an exemplary Christian. Her husband was a graduate of the Philomath College, and together they had gone to make their home among friends and she was following the worthy avocation of a school teacher for which she had made adequate preparation. To know her was to love her. A host of friends attended the last sad rites and her parents and bereaved husband at this place have the sympathy of the entire community.”

The funeral services of Mrs. Wm. Claybaugh, of Lewiston, Idaho, formerly Miss Clara Mason of our city, was held in the college chapel Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. The services were conducted by Rev. W. W. Rosebraugh, after which interment was made in the Newton cemetery.
Editor’s note: According to the 1910 census, Mrs. Claybaugh was 23 when enumerated in April and since she was born in 1887, that would have been her age at death.
