The Philomath Youth Activities Club has opened registration for its fall sports programs with a deadline of July 10 for families to secure spots in flag football, volleyball and recreational cheer.

Volleyball is open to students in grades 4-8. Grades 4-6 will compete in the Valley League, while seventh and eighth graders will play in the school league and are held to academic standards. All teams can expect limited travel across the valley with the season running in September and October.

PYAC notes that even though fall seventh and eighth grade volleyball is played through the school league, physicals from student-athletes are not required.

Flag football is available for students in grades 3-6. PYAC competes in the Valley League through the NFL Flag Football program with games held mainly in Philomath and Corvallis and possible travel across the valley. The season runs September and October.

Recreational cheer is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. PYAC partners with Philomath High School on the program, which is headed by PHS cheer coach Kathy Kohler. A “mini” level is available for the youngest participants.

When registering, grade levels refer to the grade a child will be entering in the fall of 2026.

Families interested in tackle football should note that PYAC no longer offers that program. Tackle football for Philomath youth is now handled through MidValley Pop Warner for all grade levels.

PYAC is also seeking volunteer coaches for volleyball, flag football and the mini level of cheer. Interested volunteers are asked to contact the PYAC office.

Registration and additional information are available at the PYAC website.
