A body recovered from the Willamette River north of Harrisburg has been identified as a Junction City man who had been reported missing nearly six months earlier, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.
Wade Felton Lloyd, 62, was found Monday afternoon along the west bank near river mile 159. A kayaker discovered the body and contacted authorities, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded with a marine patrol boat that launched rom McCartney Park, a few miles downriver, at about 2:09 p.m. May 19.
Lloyd had been reported missing to the Junction City Police Department on Nov. 20. Investigators identified him through tattoos, the Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies have notified his next of kin.
The exact cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office said additional details were not being released “out of respect for the family and the integrity of the investigation.”
Anyone with information related to Lloyd’s death is asked to contact the Junction City Police Department at 541-998-1245 and reference case No. 202506989.
