VOLUME 7, NUMBER 81
Saturday, April 11, 2026

Good morning, Philomath.

In today’s newsletter, we lead off with the Three Things column with items on DUII program recognition that includes Philomath PD, a $2 million federal funding request by Philomath Fire and Rescue and a local eighth grader who competed in an international wrestling tournament. We also have a preview of Monday’s City Council meeting, which includes a couple of major development-related items. The fire district’s board also plans to meet on Monday. The city will begin its annual hydrant flushing on Monday. Mount Union Cemetery’s volunteer cleanup events begin this morning and will continue on the second Saturday each month through October. The Benton County Genealogical Society has an informative family history program set up for later this morning. The OSP Log details a fatal crash that occurred on I-5 and resulted in DUII and manslaughter charges for a truck driver. And be sure to check out today’s Philomath in Photos — a beautiful shot by Kendra Gillman. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
