SUNDAY, MARCH 15
• 11:17 p.m. — BCSO arrested a 36-year-old Albany woman on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and two counts of reckless endangerment during a traffic stop on Highway 20 about 7 miles west of Philomath. BCSO had responded to a report of a 2005 Ford Freestyle traveling east on Highway 20 that near milepost 10 in Lincoln County had been unable to maintain its lane or speed and nearly struck oncoming vehicles and guardrails. Following the stop near Philomath, the driver was arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail, where a breath sample taken approximately four hours after the initial call registered a .095% blood alcohol content. Two juveniles in the vehicle were picked up by a family member.
MONDAY, MARCH 16
• Time NA — BCSO took a report of identity theft from a 69-year-old Philomath woman in the lobby of the sheriff’s office in Corvallis. The woman said that her deceased husband’s identity had been used on multiple occasions to apply for credit cards. The woman was not aware of any accounts that may have been opened.
THURSDAY, MARCH 19
• 7:41 a.m. — BCSO arrested a 74-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving near the 500 block of Main Street.
FRIDAY, MARCH 20
• 11:43 a.m. — BCSO took a report of identity theft from a 34-year-old Philomath woman involving numerous fraudulent jobs and income that appeared on her Paid Leave Oregon history along with taxes that had been flagged. The woman was advised to freeze her credit and contact financial organizations.
• 12:36 p.m. — BCSO took a report of theft by deception via computer crime from a 20-year-old Philomath man. The victim had posted an ad on Facebook Marketplace seeking someone to purchase a 2005 Mazda sedan on his behalf, with an agreement to repay the buyer $350 per month. After sending an initial $350 payment via Cash App to an individual who agreed to the arrangement, the victim was blocked by the user.
SATURDAY, MARCH 21
• 10:57 a.m. — BCSO arrested a 19-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop on Highway 20 about 3 miles west of Philomath. The man was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody.
