The Philomath High School softball team’s games scheduled for Tuesday in the Battle at the Beach tournament in Newport didn’t come off as planned.
PHS coach Kari Jaques said a game against Yamhill-Carlton has been rescheduled for April 1 at Warrior Field with the first pitch at 5 p.m. The game will now serve as the team’s home opener.
Two days later on April 3, Philomath is scheduled to play a home doubleheader against Marshfield beginning at 1 p.m.
The second game that Philomath was supposed to play Tuesday at the tournament against Nyssa was not rescheduled.

The 3A Yamhill-Carlton squad has a 4-1 record and had won its first two games in Newport over Junction City and Toledo by scores of 10-0 and 13-0, respectively.
