The Philomath Housing and Economic Development Committee plans to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Philomath City Hall with members set to review two competing proposals for a long-anticipated mixed-use development at the corner of 14th and Main streets.
The city purchased the property in 2020 and an environmental cleanup that involved the removal of underground storage tanks and a hydraulic lift station was completed in December. The city then issued a request for qualifications seeking development teams for a project.
Two proposals emerged from the process. One envisions a boutique hotel on the upper floors of a mixed-use building, while the other calls for small housing units. City Manager Chris Workman is expected to brief committee members on the proposals and seek their input.
The Philomath City Council on Monday night approved a recommendation for the city to interview both development teams. Developer interviews are tentatively scheduled to occur in April.
