The Philomath Inclusivity Committee plans to meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Philomath City Hall for an agenda that includes a discussion on “community agreements,” a set of guidelines outlining how members should engage with one another and work as a group to achieve goals.

Members were asked to review a reference list in advance and identify up to five agreements they feel are most important. The goal during the meeting is to land on a final set of 10 to 12 agreements the committee will use going forward, drawing from categories including mutual respect, openness to learning, personal accountability, and inclusion and accessibility.

Also on the agenda, the committee will select a chair to lead meetings over the rest of the year. Choosing a chair was postponed from January to allow time for additional members to be appointed and to ensure better quorum stability.

The committee will choose between continuing with a single chairperson — the format used in 2025 — returning to a co-chair model used in prior years, or exploring other arrangements members may propose. The chair is responsible for setting agendas and delivering packet materials to city staff ahead of each meeting.

The third business item focuses on the committee’s work plan and goals for the year. A planning calendar developed by a previous committee cohort lays out recommended work through 2026, and Tuesday’s discussion will determine how much of that calendar the current committee wants to adopt. The committee is expected to discuss how to track its goals throughout the year.

In addition to the in-person meeting at City Hall, the proceedings can be viewed through the city’s YouTube channel.
