During a 2024-25 fiscal year financial audit report to the Philomath School Board on Thursday night, Chair Tom Klipfel couldn’t seem to find a summary of significant issues among the independent auditor’s findings.

“There aren’t any — you guys have done a great job,” Accuity’s Kori Sarrett told Klipfel and the rest of the board.

“That really is exceptional,” Klipfel responded. “I’ve never read an audit that doesn’t articulate those kinds of (issues).”

In addition to the Philomath School District’s overall financial statement audit, Accuity’s work also included a federal compliance component because of the school district’s level of utilizing federal programs.

“This year, we looked at the child nutrition programs … mostly because it’s still fairly new that you’re running it and everything looked great,” Sarrett said.

Sarrett had glowing comments about the school district’s business office, which is managed by Jennifer Griffith.

“I don’t think we had any tweaks this year,” Sarrett said. “Your finance staff is always really willing to take our feedback and then implement changes but it looked fantastic, so that was good.”

Sarrett said the state requires a review of budget and public contract compliance and Accuity also did not find any issues in those areas. No internal control findings were identified.

The board approved the audit on a 5-0 vote.
