THURSDAY, JAN. 8
• 9:21 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of attempted fraud involving a 42-year-old Philomath man on Old Peak Road who had received a message the previous day that stated, “His boss was upset and he needed to pay or his family would be in danger.” The victim reported that the man’s voice sounded muffled, as if using a device.
SATURDAY, JAN. 31
• 2:09 p.m. — During a traffic stop on Highway 20 about 1 mile west of Burnt Woods, BCSO arrested a 63-year-old Blodgett man on two warrants for failure to appear in court — one out of Albany and the other out of Lebanon. In addition, a 42-year-old Toledo woman who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested for failure to appear in court out of Philomath. Both individuals were issued criminal citations.
SUNDAY, FEB. 1
• 8:41 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a crash off Highway 20 and into a creek about 2 miles west of Philomath. The driver, a 48-year-old Albany man, had left the scene and was found hiding near the creek in the brush. He was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 4
• 1:18 p.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a burglary that had occurred at a residence on Woodpecker Court sometime during the few previous nights. According to a report on the incident, someone entered the residence at the basement level and cut and stole copper wiring and refrigerant line valued at $1,760.
THURSDAY, FEB. 5
• 6:06 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal trespass involving two individuals who breached the fence on Timberlab’s property, which is located near the Highway 34 and Highway 20 intersection. According to a report on the incident, an employee was reviewing security camera footage and saw what she believed to be two individuals getting inside the fence on the west side of the lot near the main gate. BCSO did not report an arrest nor provide any details on what had been stolen.
• 8:21 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Highway 20 near Woods Creek Road involving a woman wearing a yellow reflective vest who was looking into mailboxes and leaving mail scattered on the ground. Police identified the woman as a 21-year-old Eugene resident who claimed she was only looking into mailboxes because she was bored. She said she was walking to Newport to retrieve belongings. The responding deputy provided her with a ride to Ellmaker State Park.

Last I recall messing with someone’s mailbox and contents is a Federal Offense and the BCSO just gives her a ride to Ellmaker Park west of Burntwoods, which is out of his jurisdiction doesn’t seem right!!!!
