Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.
FRIDAY, JAN. 2
• 2:11 a.m. — Philomath Police reported that a patrol car hit a deer in the 3100 block of Main Street. No injuries were reported.
• 8 a.m. — Philomath Police responded to a report of a female walking in and out of traffic in the 3000 block of Main Street. Police were unable to find the individual.
• 3:25 p.m. — Police responded to a report of fourth-degree assault at a Decker Road residence involving a mother and daughter. After investigating, police did not make an arrest in the case.
Other calls: Police responses included contact with a citizen at 10:58 a.m. (Philomath Police lobby), juvenile complaint at 11:44 a.m. (Newton Street), overdose/poisoning at 7:56 p.m. (College Street) and a welfare check at 11:15 p.m. (Adams Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.
SATURDAY, JAN. 3
• 12:57 p.m. — Police arrested a 34-year-old Philomath woman on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest/disorderly conduct in the 1700 block of Pioneer Street. Police had asked the woman to leave the residence an hour earlier. A report on the incident stated that the woman was taken to the ground after pulling away while being handcuffed, scratching an officer during the altercation. She was taken to Benton County Jail.
Other calls: Police responses included a mental health situation at 11:03 a.m. (Pioneer Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 1:08 p.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
SUNDAY, JAN. 4
• 4:18 p.m. — Police arrested a 36-year-old Corvallis man at Main Street and North Ninth Street on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a criminal citation. The man was cited and released.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of reckless driving at 3:48 p.m. (Cooper Lane). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 6:28 p.m. (North 12th Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.
MONDAY, JAN. 5
• 6:18 p.m. — Police assisted the Oregon State University Police with detaining a suspect in the 300 block of Southwest 53rd Street in Corvallis.
Other calls: Police responses included an animal complaint at 10:40 a.m. (North 12th Street), citizen contact at 10:41 a.m. (College Street and North 12th Street), welfare check at 11:41 a.m. (North 11th Street), citizen contact at 12:25 p.m. (Applegate Street and South 20th Street) and a welfare check at 5:25 p.m. (Marlon Place). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 12:58 a.m. (Gellatly Way). PPD reported eight traffic stops.
TUESDAY, JAN. 6
• 5:44 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance involving two males who reportedly knocked on a door in the 3100 block of Main Street and asked for Spanish-speaking people. After the pair was advised that nobody there spoke Spanish, they left.
Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 3:24 a.m. (Main Street), report of an order violation at 11:46 a.m. (College Street), mental health situation at 5:04 p.m. (Marlon Street) and a parking complaint at 5:51 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 12:35 a.m. (Whitman Way). PPD reported two traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 7
• 2:32 p.m. — Police responded to the 100 block of North 15th Street to a woman who reported that there were missing or possibly stolen items.
Other calls: Police responses included a domestic disturbance at 8:53 p.m. (West Hills Road) and a dog at large at 10:17 p.m. (Landmark Drive and Main Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.
THURSDAY, JAN. 8
• 8:06 a.m. — Police responded to a crash at Main Street and Seventh Street. No injuries were reported.
• 8:27 a.m. — Police responded to a crash on an icy road in the 800 block of North 19th Street. No injuries were reported.
• 8:53 a.m. — Police responded to a crash on an icy road in the 800 block of North 19th Street.
Other calls: Police responses included a traffic hazard at 8:31 a.m. (Highway 20/34), abandoned vehicle at 4:21 p.m. (North 20th Street), parking complaint at 4:55 p.m. (Quail Glenn Drive) and a juvenile complaint at 5:41 p.m. (South 17th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
