Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, DEC. 12

• 9:56 a.m. — Police arrested a 43-year-old Philomath man in the 1800 block of College Street on warrants out of Benton County and Albany for failure to appear in court on criminal citations.

• 11:40 a.m. — Police arrested a 69-year-old Philomath woman in the 100 block of North 15th Street on a warrant for contempt of court. The woman was cited in lieu of custody.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of road kill at 3:35 a.m. (Highway 34 and Stovall Lane), civil dispute at 3:19 p.m. (Applegate Street), animal complaint at 4:01 p.m. (South 19th Street) and a civil dispute at 10:09 p.m. (North Seventh Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 9:31 p.m. (Kings Valley Highway). PPD reported no traffic stops.

SATURDAY, DEC. 13

• 2:53 p.m. — Police arrested a 35-year-old Portland man and a 35-year-old Lebanon man at College Street and North 20th Street on warrants for failure to appear in court on criminal citations. Both men were cited in lieu of custody.

• 4:10 p.m. — Police responded to a disorderly conduct call at College Street and North 13th Street. An adult male suspect eluded police on his bike.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 10 p.m. (South Eighth Street). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

SUNDAY, DEC. 14

• 12:26 p.m. — Police arrested Geri Lynn Olson, 48, of Beaverton, in the 1100 block of Main Street on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine. Olson was transported to Benton County Jail. 

• 9:16 p.m. — Police arrested a 55-year-old Philomath woman in the 800 block of Main Street on a warrant. The woman was cited in lieu of custody.

• 9:21 p.m. — Police arrested a 65-year-old Corvallis man in the 800 block of Main Street on two warrants. The man was cited in lieu of custody.

Other calls: Police responses included a domestic disturbance at 6:55 a.m. (Main Street), welfare check at 9:59 a.m. (North 11th Street and Quail Glenn Drive), citizen assistance about a restraining order at 10 a.m. (South 17th Street), welfare check at 10:59 a.m. (Applegate Street), traffic hazard at 8:18 p.m. (Main Street and South 24th Street) and a bar check at 9:09 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported four traffic stops.

MONDAY, DEC. 15

• 5:55 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash at Chapel Drive and South 19th Street. According to an officer’s report, a pickup hit a Toyota Camry or similar vehicle that ran the stop sign at 19th and Chapel. The pickup was disabled and the other vehicle fled the scene heading east on Chapel Drive.

• 10:47 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a possible prowler at a residence in the 200 block of South 18th Street based on noises coming from the carport. Upon arrival, officers did not find anything suspicious in the area.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 12:30 a.m. (South 30th Street and Maplewood Court), lost dog at 11:45 a.m. (South 19th Street and Cedar Street), welfare check at 2:18 p.m. (South 23rd Street) and citizen contact at 10:09 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

TUESDAY, DEC. 16

• 8:57 p.m. — Police arrested a 45-year-old Philomath woman during a traffic stop in the 200 block of North 13th Street on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance at 2:51 p.m. (South 17th Street), suspicious person at 4:54 p.m. (South 16th Street and Timothy Street) and citizen contact at 10:32 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 17

• 1:12 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a traffic hazard at the Highway 20 and Highway 34 intersection involving a tree blown down during a windstorm.

• 1:39 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a traffic hazard at College Street and North Seventh Street involving a tree blown down during a windstorm.

• 2:04 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an alleged violation of an order in the 800 block of Main Street. Police determined it did not have probable cause to make an arrest.

Other calls: Police responses included providing safety information at 5:02 p.m. (McCall Way). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 3:37 a.m. (Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported one traffic stop.

THURSDAY, DEC. 18

• 7:36 p.m. — Police arrested a 23-year-old Philomath woman on a misdemeanor charge of harassment with physical contact/simple assault and a 24-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of reporting false information to a police officer during a response to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of South 15th Street. During the investigation, the officer determined that the man was in violation of a no-contact release agreement and he was transported to Benton County Jail.

• 7:40 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a possible hit-and-run incident at Chapel Drive and South 19th Street.

Other calls: Police responses included a domestic disturbance at 3:39 p.m. (Tasman Place), identification found on a sidewalk returned to its owner at 5:24 p.m. (Applegate Street) and loud music at 10:57 p.m. (Newton Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 12:59 p.m. (Highway 20 and Priest Road). PPD reported two traffic stops.
