FRIDAY, NOV. 7
• 3:15 p.m. — Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on the Beltline Highway in Eugene that took the life of Vincent George Canham, 84, of Eugene. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a westbound Honda Accord driven by a 52-year-old Eugene man braked suddenly and was struck in the rear by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 52-year-old Elmira man. The collision caused the Chevrolet to enter the eastbound lane and strike Canham’s eastbound Dodge Stratus head-on. Canham was declared deceased after being transported to an area hospital. The Chevrolet’s driver was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the Dodge, a 77-year-old man from Sweden, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
THURSDAY, NOV. 13
• 10:58 a.m. — Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 42 in Coos County that took the life of John William Henderson, 69, of Roseburg. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Henderson was driving a westbound Chevrolet Malibu when it failed to negotiate a curve and entered the eastbound lane where it struck nearly head-on a semi-truck, driven by a 54-year-old Sutherlin man, pulling double trailers. Another semi-truck driven by a 72-year-old Coquille man struck the concrete barrier while avoiding the collision. Henderson was declared deceased after being transported to an area hospital. A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 76-year-old Bandon man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
