Philomath Woman Passes — The funeral of the late Mrs. Anna M. Fehler, widow of J.R. Fehler, was held at Philomath Monday afternoon at 2:30, with interment in Newton cemetery. Mrs. Fehler, 58, died at her late home in Philomath Saturday afternoon, after an illness of several weeks. She came to Oregon with her family nearly 40 years ago. Two sons and two daughters survive. They are Mrs. Cora M. Recotte and Mrs. Metha F. Stovall of Philomath, J.A. Fehler, Salem, and Harry R. Fehler, Yakima, Wash. Mrs. Metha Hartless and Mrs. Metora Merryman of Corvallis are sisters of the deceased. Mrs. Fehler was a member of an old pioneer family of Benton county and was well known at Philomath and throughout Benton county.

Editor’s note: According to Mrs. Fehler’s death certificate, her full name was Anna Margareta Fehler and she was the daughter of Erhard Dittmar (born in Germany) and Eva Fehler (born in Austria). She lived in Philomath for 38 years.
