Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, APRIL 18

• 10:09 a.m. — Police investigated a report from a woman on North Eighth Street that believed someone had been in the resident’s house. The claim could not be substantiated.

• 4:18 p.m. — Police arrested a 29-year-old Philomath man on a charge of driving while suspended and on a contempt-of-court warrant out of Lebanon during a traffic stop at College Street and North 16th Street.

• 10:09 p.m. — Police arrested a 22-year-old Corvallis man on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs) during a traffic stop at Main Street and North 12th Street.

Other calls: Police responses included an abandoned vehicle at 11:05 a.m. (North 20th Street), abandoned vehicle at 11:15 a.m. (South 20th Street), abandoned vehicle at 11:26 a.m. (North 11th Street), dog in a hot vehicle at 11:50 a.m. (North 20th Street), non-911 issue at 1:53 p.m. (North 12th Street), dog barking at 4:49 p.m. (Applegate Street) and a report of possible DUII at 7:32 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard and Southwest 15th Street, Corvallis). PPD reported six traffic stops.

SATURDAY, APRIL 19

• 9:45 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a man and a woman who were refusing to leave a property in the 500 block of South 15th Street. Police issued a warning for trespassing and they left the area.

• 5:17 p.m. — Police assisted at the scene of a fatal crash at Highway 34 and Grange Hall Road. A male juvenile was declared deceased while being transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. See separate story.

Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 1:42 p.m. (North Eighth Street) and a lost dog (South 18th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 1:05 a.m. (Southeast Third Street and Southeast Goodnight Avenue, Corvallis). PPD reported four traffic stops.

SUNDAY, APRIL 20

•10:23 p.m. — Police responded to a report of the theft of a phone that contained identification, debit card and cash that had been taken from a location in the 300 block of South 15th Street.

Other calls: Police responses included motorist assistance at 1:30 a.m. (Main Street), request for PPD drug recognition expert at 3:16 a.m. (Highway 20 Northwest and Springhill Drive, Albany) and a dog barking at 7:09 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 11:36 a.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.

MONDAY, APRIL 21

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 11:39 a.m. (North 15th Street), mental health situation at 2:22 p.m., dog complaint at 3:24 p.m. (South 15th Street), parking complaint at 5:19 p.m. (Applegate Street) and a dog barking at 8:40 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 12:03 a.m. (Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported no traffic stops.

TUESDAY, APRIL 22

• 9:28 a.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting in the 1700 block of Main Street. The incident was captured on video.

• 12:07 p.m. — Police responded to a report in the 100 block of North 15th Street of a woman who said that while she was at the laundromat, someone entered her apartment and stole a tablet valued at $150. There were no witnesses.

• 9:04 p.m. — Police arrested a 42-year-old Philomath man in the 1800 block of College Street on a charge of second-degree disorderly conduct and three warrants.

Other calls: Police responses included a mental health situation at 10:24 a.m., animal complaint at 11:34 a.m. (Chapel Drive and Willowbrook Drive) and a juvenile complaint at 4:08 p.m. In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 4:16 p.m. (South 15th Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23

• 4:57 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a man who was seen masturbating while walking on Applegate Street. The man was not located.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 3:27 p.m. (Applegate Street), noncriminal issue at 4:37 p.m. (North 15th Street) and citizen assistance at 6:01 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

THURSDAY, APRIL 24

• 10:56 a.m. — Police responded to a report in the 600 block of Main Street of a man who was upset for having to provide identification for an alcohol purchase. The man reportedly threatened to kill the cashier. The cashier did not want to pursue charges.

Other calls: Police responses included an abandoned vehicle at 11:32 a.m. (South 20th Street) and a noise disturbance at 3:18 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 8:06 p.m. (Southwest Plymouth Drive, Corvallis). PPD reported two traffic stops.
