Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, MARCH 14

• 5:13 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a $100 counterfeit bill at a Philomath credit union.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 8:35 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported three traffic stops.

SATURDAY, MARCH 15

• 1:15 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a German shepherd running loose on Clemens Mill Road. The dog was transported to Heartland Humane Society in Corvallis.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance at 1:43 p.m. (Main Street) and welfare check at 7:49 p.m. (Marlon Place). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 5:13 a.m. (North 12th Street) and 11:15 p.m. (Southwest Country Club Drive, Corvallis). PPD reported three traffic stops.

SUNDAY, MARCH 16

• 2:38 p.m. — Police responded to a report of the misuse of the 911 system involving an individual who sent a picture of a cat to 911.

Other calls: Police responses included a parking complaint at 4:46 p.m. (McCall Way). PPD reported three traffic stops.

MONDAY, MARCH 17

• 3:21 p.m. — Police responded to a report of second-degree theft involving garbage cans that had been stolen from a local business on Main Street. The loss was estimated at $75.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance at 5:01 a.m. (Applegate Street), non-911 issue at 6:51 a.m. (Applegate Street), dog at large at 2:06 p.m. (Pioneer Street), abandoned vehicle at 3:12 p.m. (Adelaide Drive) and an extra patrol at 6:24 p.m. (North 12th Street and Monroe Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

TUESDAY, MARCH 18

• 9:52 a.m. — Police responded to a dog owner’s report in the 1200 block of Houser Lane of a pitbull mix attempting to attack the caller’s dog while on a walk.

• 10:09 p.m. — Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at the scene of a crash that had been reported on Highway 20 about 2-1/2 miles west of Philomath.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog complaint at 10:52 a.m. (Pioneer Street and North 10th Street), welfare check at 1:23 p.m. (North 12th Street) and trespassing at 7:02  p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19

• 1:40 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a utility company employee who had allegedly been threatened when requesting access to a resident’s property on South 16th Street.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 12:57 a.m. (Beaver Creek Road, Corvallis). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

THURSDAY, MARCH 20

• 4:17 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a student who allegedly made threats when asked to leave Philomath Community Library for being disruptive.

Other calls: Police responses included a noise disturbance at 6:40 a.m. (South 16th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
