Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, JAN. 9

• 9:52 a.m. — Police responded to a report of theft involving items missing from a woman’s apartment in the 100 block of North 15th Street.

• 11:29 a.m. — Police arrested a 34-year-old Philomath woman in the 200 block of North 18th Street on a charge of violating a release agreement.

• 8:59 p.m. — Police arrested a 40-year-old Philomath man on misdemeanor charges of strangulation and harassment during a domestic disturbance call involving two men on North Ninth Street. No injuries were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 2:48 p.m. (North 10th Street), extra patrol at 8:05 p.m. (Willow Lane), foot patrol at 8:27 p.m. (South 11th Street) and a report of a missing wallet at 10:33 p.m. (North 15th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

SATURDAY, JAN. 10

• 7:44 p.m. — Police arrested a 38-year-old Corvallis woman on a misdemeanor charge of first-degree criminal trespass in the 600 block of Main Street. The woman was issued a citation in lieu of custody.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a lost wallet at 2:45 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

SUNDAY, JAN. 11

• 12:16 p.m. — Police arrested a 60-year-old Corvallis man at Applegate Street and South 16th Street on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a criminal citation.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 10:20 a.m. (North Ninth Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

MONDAY, JAN. 12

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a parking complaint at 2:13 p.m. (North 11th Street), city ordinance violation at 5:34 p.m. (South 11th Street) and citizen contact at 6:08 p.m. (South 16th Street and Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 7:46 p.m. (Highway 20 and Norton Creek Road, Blodgett). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.

TUESDAY, JAN. 13

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: PPD reported one traffic stop.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 14

• 8:40 a.m. — Police responded to four calls related to an injured dog that was seen in the Newton Creek Park vicinity. Other calls about the dog to PPD followed at 9:15 a.m. (300 block of Jeffery Place) and 9:35 a.m. (Newton Street and Jeffery Place). Police also received a report of blood spots seen on a driveway and in grass in the 200 block of South 26th Street. Police reported that the owner had been located.

Other calls: PPD reported no traffic stops.

THURSDAY, JAN. 15

• 1:24 p.m. — Police conducted a death investigation at a North 19th Street location involving a man who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

• 5:31 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a minor crash in the Dollar General parking lot. No injuries were reported.

• 6:15 p.m. — Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at the scene of a two-vehicle crash at Grange Hall Road and Highway 34. Two individuals were transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.

Other calls: Police responses included a city ordinance violation at 9:41 a.m. (Pioneer Street), 9:45 a.m. (Pioneer Street) and a mental health situation at 10:51 a.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 10:53 a.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.
