On 11/15/21, at approximately 1449 hours, the Lebanon Police Department received information that a two-year-old male child was at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital with a serious physical injury.

It was reported the child was first transported to Lebanon Community Hospital by his mother’s boyfriend on 11/14/21. The child was taken by air ambulance to Doernbecher later that same day. The boyfriend was identified as Patrick Michael Decker (DOB 07/06/95).

In the information provided to the Lebanon Police Department, the initial explanation for the child’s injury raised suspicion. Decker was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Linn County Jail for Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree.

The Lebanon Police Department has no history with Decker.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective James Glover with the Lebanon Police Department at 541-451-1751, Ext. 4326.
