DESCRIPTION:The primary purpose of Quilts From Caring Hands is to bring the feeling of loving comfort to at-risk children in Oregon’s Benton\, Linn and Marion counties. These include those who are homeless\, drug addicted\, visually impaired\, or abused\, and those in foster care. Our quilts are distributed through designated social service agencies. \nEach quilt we make for a child is unique. In addition to crib- and twin-sized quilts\, we also assemble tactile quilts and “cuddlers” for visually impaired children.  The finished quilts and cuddlers are given away once each quarter. \nQCH is grateful to our sponsors for their support over the years. Quilts from Caring Hands is a volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  All donations are tax deductible.

DESCRIPTION:Lumos is excited to host the Tuesday String Band under the oaks on Labor Day Monday\, September 7 from 2-4pm. \nTuesday String Band is a full-time\, touring Progressive Bluegrass band out of the Willamette Valley area of Oregon. They played nearly 200 shows in over 40 different cities in 2025 and have been called “the hardest working band in the Pacific Northwest.” (Josh Cole\, KBOO Radio Portland). They’ve performed at numerous music festivals\, including the North Cascades Bluegrass Festival (Bellingham\, WA)\, Newgrass (Newberg\, OR)\, Florence Winter Music Festival (Florence\, OR) and the Matheson Music Festival (Safford\, AZ). The group has shared the stage with folk music legends Darol Anger and Bruce Molsky\, and they’ve performed with internationally touring bands like Shadowgrass\, The Kruger Brothers\, Authentic Unlimited\, Stillhouse Junkies\, and The Burnett Sisters Band. Fans of Tuesday String Band appreciate the group’s stage banter\, musical precision\, style blending\, and extended improvisations that are unique to each show. \nBring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a glass of wine and some great tunes. DESCRIPTION:We’ll be hosting DrZoo on Saturday\, September 5th from 2-4pm under the oaks! \nThe DrZoo band is a Corvallis Oregon based rock and roll band consisting of Patrick Chappell\, Jeff Parker\, Erica Prince\, Leo Prince-Brookes\, Joselyn Strickler\, and Seth Bernstein. They play a mix of originals and covers. Their music features lots of harmony\, soaring solos\, and a driving beat. Their style is eclectic. Their covers range from Phish to Keb Mo to the Allman Brothers. The band’s originals are similarly diverse. DrZoo’s music is easy to listen to. It is sometimes complex. At times you will want to dance. Come check them out! \nBring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a glass of wine and some great tunes.\nThis is a free concert and all are welcome! \nMud Oven Pizza is scheduled to be at Lumos on Sept. 5 from noon-6 p.m.

SUMMARY:Omelet Dinner at College United Methodist Church
DESCRIPTION:Held the first Friday of each month (excluding July and August)\, the dinner began in 1987 as a means of funding parsonage property taxes. Dinners are open to the public. The meal consists of an omelet (made while you watch) with your choice of fillings (ham\, green onion\, green peppers\, mushrooms\, cheddar and/or Jack cheese)\, homemade scones\, fresh fruit and a beverage. If you are real hungry\, sausage gravy and scones are available for purchase. Homemade desserts can be enjoyed for a donation. \nIn April\, omelets are replaced with our annual Spaghetti Dinner. The meal includes spaghetti\, bread\, salad and a beverage. Delicious\, homemade desserts will be available for a donation. (Same time\, same place — Social Hall from 5-7 PM)
